You will be joining 143 other scouts from the Minsi Trails Council as you descend on Fort A.P. Hill to join 36,000 Boy Scouts and
unit leaders from across the country and around the world to form Jamboree City. During the time of the Jamboree, Jamboree City will be the 7th largest city in Virginia, comprised of 18,000 tents and 3,600 patrol kitchens.
Amid the thousands of colorful tents that will house participants
and provide program and support services, there is an
infrastructure that provides a secure environment at Fort A.P.
Hill. Everything from bus and telephone systems to a hospital
and first-aid stations, police and fire departments, post
offices, food warehouses, a daily newspaper, and retail stores
(trading posts) provide all the support and program services
needed for this outstanding event.
