Attention All Catholic Scouts!
The Minsi Trails Catholic Committee on Scouting of the Allentown Diocese will be holding their annual retreat on April 16-18 at Akelaland. All Scouts working on the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII Awards are required to attend this Retreat. This program is based on the Catholic Faith and Scouting Ideals. Even if you are not working toward a religious award, you will find the opportunity to retreat from your everyday world in this outdoor setting to be rewarding. Catholic Units are encouraged to attend as a group with proper leadership; Catholic Scouts in any unit may attend provisionally. Older Scouts, Explorers, parents and other adults are also invited to participate with our staff. Units may bring Webelos. To find out more, or to download a registration form, please visit our "NEW" Catholic Committee on Scouting website at http://www.minsiccos.com, pick up a form at the council office, or contact Bill Brodniak at info@minsiccos.com. We look forward to seeing you there!
An article written by Scouter Bill Brodniak as part of his Wood Badge ticket. Bill focused on the religious aspect of the Scouting program for his Wood Badge and has been actively promoting the religious emblems program and also has gotten heavily involved in his own faiths' committee. This article provides a good overview of the entire religious emblems program and the benefits and pitfalls of it. Bill encourages all adults involved in the Scouting program to read the article and hopefully get the spark in them that has ignited Bill in his eneavor to spread his faith through this wonderful ministry. Bill reminds all of us that we don't have to BE a minister TO minister.
