Forks District Positions Currently Available - In Order of Current Necessity
Community Friends of Scouting Chair – DCAL or DCM
· Coordinate Community Friends ofScouting activities for the District. Work with the District Key 4, the Finance Chair and the MTC FinanceDirector to ensure sufficient help is acquired to contact area business leadersand coordinate community FOS breakfasts.
Community Breakfast Chair – Easton, Slate Belt andNazareth – DCAL or DCM
· Coordinate with the Key 4 andCommunity FoS Chair, as well as the Finance Chair. Coordinates annual Community breakfasts forthe given area, and helps to identify breakfast honoree(s) and other Breakfastcommittee members. Chairs the Breakfastwith support from District Executive and District Chairman.
Finance Chair - OC
· Coordinates and reports onDistrict finance and fundraising activities to include FOS and Popcorn. Works directly with the Family and CommunityFOS chairs, the District Key 4 and the MTC Finance Director to ensure Districtbudget needs and goals are being met.
Popcorn Co-Chair - DCM
· Works with and supports thecurrent District Popcorn chair to help promote and coordinate Popcornfundraising activities with all District units.
Scouting for Food Coordinator – Easton Area – DCM
· Assist the District Scouting forFood coordinator in Scouting for Food activities each year, and helps to ensureDistrict units that reside in the Easton area have assigned distribution anddropoff locations.
Camp (Cub/Boy) Promotion – Regional - DCM
· Responsible for promotingcamping opportunities at both the Cub and Boy Scout level in the given area.Works with the Cub Scout and Boy Scout District camping chairs as needed tocommunicate camp offerings and promote camping to units, including coordinatingwith and giving Camp promotions at Unit formal functions such as Blue and Goldand/or Red and White.

Venturing Trainer - DCM
· Provides BSA prescribedclassroom training for those volunteers who seek to become Venture Leaders
School Night Coordinator – Fall and Spring - DCM
· Coordinates dates, times andlocations with District units in the fall and spring to ensure recruitingactivities are taking place across all area back to school or open housenights.
Boy Scout Recruiting Coordinator - DCAL
· Works with the District Key 4 toidentify, coordinate and obtain volunteers for Boy Scout recruiting activities.
New Unit (Cub/Boy) Coordinator- DCAL
· Identifies areas throughout theDistrict where opportunities for creating new units may exist, and assiststhose units in establishing their units.
Explorer/Venturing Recruiting Coordinator - DCAL
· Works with the District Key 4 toidentify, coordinate and obtain volunteers for Explorer/Venturing recruitingactivities.
District Committee Members “At Large” - DCAL
· These are voting members of thedistrict committee. These could beindividuals of character and standing in the community who, because ofinterest, organization experience, ability, or general knowledge, may beavailable for service as a chairman or member of one of the operatingcommittees in the District or for service in some special capacity to thedistrict.
What is a District Operating CommitteeChairman?
Voting members of the districtcommittee. Normally appointed by theDistrict Chairman with concurrence from the District Committee. Responsible for assisting the DistrictChairman to carry out the functions of the District. Regularly preside at District Committeemeetings and report on accomplishments and plans for upcoming months. May be requested to attend District Key 4meetings from time to time.
District Committee Members
Are not elected but are recruited by the district chairman,district vice chairman, or one of the operating committee chairs to assist withsome function of the district. They are not voting members of the districtcommittee. They are usually registered in this position because (1) it is notcurrently feasible to have a committee member go through the district electionprocess, (2) it is not the intent of the council or district to select them asvoting members, (3) their task does not involve ongoing service on the districtcommittee, or (4) the Scouter has agreed to help the district with a project orlimited task but does not wish to serve as a regular member of the districtcommittee
