Celebrating 100 Years — A Shining Light
For the first time in the history of the Boy Scouts of America, we will be bringing the entire Scouting community together for a single, nationwide event to celebrate our organization and reflect on what it has meant to millions of America’s youth.
On Saturday, July 31, 2010, the Scouting family — past, present and future — will be able take part in a special nationwide broadcast, "A Shining Light Across America," from the 100th Anniversary National Jamboree in Fort AP Hill, Virginia.
In addition, as part of the event, plan for a simulcast of the National Jamboree web cast finale event to be viewed at Coca Cola Park on their large outfield video display board (Jumbotron) with Scouts, friends, families, leaders, and Scouting alumni participating in the celebration of 100 years of Scouting Nationally and locally. A variety of events will be scheduled for families.
We look forward to shining a light on our rich heritage, on our core values and on our role in shaping America’s youth. We hope you will join in the celebration!
